Friday November 26, 2004 - Message Board Join our Message Board today!
Thursday November 25, 2004 Happy Thanksgiving!
Tuesday November 23, 2004 - Nutrition Special If you fill out my Stress Management Survey and Purchase at least 1 bottle of Vital Stress X, you will receive a customized, detailed nutrition plan to help you reach your fitness goals! Email me for details!
Monday November 22, 2004 - Stunning stats I had some pretty good workouts the past several days and my body is feeling the effects of that stress. Glad I got my Vital Stress X handy! :) It's amazing to fathom this, but one of my clients found a tidbit of info that's quite eye-opening. There are approximately 1,200 calories in a 16 oz. cut of prime rib. You'd have to run the entire 4,200-foot span of the Golden Gate bridge NINE times to burn those calories off! Yikes! It simply goes to show you that it is much easier to sabotage a fitness program with some hefty, fat-laden foods/drinks than it is to consistently consume healthful meals on a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, life-long basis. The best way to get in shape is to get there ONCE and for all and STAY there! Or better than that, continue improving!
Friday November 19, 2004 - Vital Stress X! I don't usually rave that much about particular supplements just because there are so many supplements out there that are complete scams and rip-offs. But every so often, I come across certain ones that catch my attention for certain reasons. 1. They are
good for health. Well, this one particular supplement comes from a company that I believe is firmly rooted in integrity and honest business. How do I know this? Well, for one, I personally have met with and corresponded with the President/CEO and Vice President of the company and these two are absolutely wonderful human beings. The company is CyberWize.com/HealthyWize.com and (President/CEO) Mark and his wife (Vice Presicent) Jeanine McCool oversee an awesome operation that's dedicated to bringing incredible products and services to the market. So with that, here's the supplement in question. It's called 'Vital Stress X' and it is specifically designed to help you combat the effects of stress.
You don't need me to tell you that stress damages your body inside and out. What types of stress am I referring to? Well, to name just a few, we have: 1. Fast-food
diets ...Yes, you read that right. Exercise is stressful! Of course it is a 'good' type of stress as long as you support that exercise with good nutrition and sound supplementation PLUS adequate rest and recovery. Oftentimes, we forget that half of the equation for getting in shape and staying healthy involves getting enough rest and recuperation time. Part of that recuperation deals with combating the effects of the stress hormone, cortisol. Stress X helps reduce the damaging effects of stress by affecting the levels of cortisol in your body. Cortisol is known as the 'stress' hormone and it's a 'catabolic' (breaks down) hormone. Too much (or too little for that matter) are harmful to the body. Stress tends to elevate this hormone in the body and can bring about adverse consequences on health over prolonged periods of time. So how does Vital Stress X help de-stress your life? Well, the main ingredients in this supplement are termed, 'adaptogens' and as you can surmise, these herbal components allow you to 'adapt' to the stressors that you encounter. In fact, back in the middle and latter third part of the 20th century, Russian athletes were given adaptogens and these were found to enhance their athletic performance considerably. Now, you might not necessarily have the goal of being an elite ballet dancer or Olympic competitor like those athletes, however, just being an active member of society and training at the gym produces its own set of stressful events and consequences on health. I've found it to be quite beneficial in my own use for increasing energy, decreasing tension, improving my mood, enhancing sleep, and boosting my mental focus. Taking just 1-2 capfuls per day of this berry-flavored liquid supplement are all you need...it's quite awesome! It's time to de-stress your life! BTW--You can check out my stress management survey and find out your 'stress score!'
Wednesday November 17, 2004 - Got stress? Check out this stress management survey!
Tuesday November 16, 2004 - Suh-weet! Last night's Aliveness Seminar with Steve was simply awesome! We had eight dedicated students there, all on the same page, and all learning and performing at high levels! Next time, I'm planning on doubling the number of folks there...it's just an awesome feeling to train in-the-moment and experiencing how to really train alive. I'll be working on editing down some video footage that we shot to disply here. In the meantime, you can check out Steve's blog at the Straight Blast Gym web site. He's an outstanding coach and great bro! BTW--on a side note...actually a very light side note...check out this amusing video clip that I shot a couple of years ago (thanks to D. Nadeau for his sound f/x editing!). Enjoy the day!
Monday November 15, 2004 - Seminar! Tonight I'll be attending a martial arts seminar at the AMAC that'll be conducted by one of my best friends, Steve Whittier. He's a top-notch coach and overall cool dude! I participated in a half-day seminar that he ran yesterday in Rhode Island and I know that he's going to be a highly sought after coach in the near future! Tonight's Seminar will be focused on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with the central theme aimed at "aliveness" drills and application. Props to Matt Thornton and the Straight Blast Gym for spreading the aliveness message through Steve!
Thursday November 11, 2004 - I MUST... If you've been following along my most recent blog entries, you'll have read the "I MUST...because..." statements regarding goal-setting. These types of statements are much more powerful and effective than writing down vague, uninspiring goals like: "I want to lose more weight." "I want to earn more money." "I want to have a better relationship with my spouse/sibling/child/etc." The more specific and 'emtionally-loaded' that your goals are, the more actions you'll take towards fulfilling them. So, I challenge you to do this. Write down THREE (yup, just three for now) powerful, inspiring goals and read them aloud THREE times immediately after you wake up in the AM, immediately after lunch in the PM, and right before you get to bed. The most important thing though--and the challenge part of it--is this: Right after you state your goals aloud (again, three times), you must DO something, anything...just at least one specific action towards making that goal a reality and record those actions that you took. That's the 'secret' step here folks. Actions count tremendously. They're really the fuel to get the motor revving up and running on all cyllinders. So is this exercise clear? 1. WRITE down your THREE "I MUST...because..." goal statments. 2. ACT on each of these goals immediately after you state them. 3. RECORD what you've done to fulfill some aspect of these goals. 4. REPEAT. You'll be astonished at how much you can and will accomplish with this simple challenge!
Wednesday November 10, 2004 - Your Why will show you How Continuing on from yesterday's comments about finding your 'why'--your purpose in life...when you have a big enough purpose; fueled with undaunted determination and relentless, passionate commitment; you will always find a way towards your objective. The 'how' will make itself known. That's because all of your efforts, your mental focus, your heart's desire are centered on that big picture. Almost like magic, the resources, the people, and the opportunities begin to appear; and it seems as though the more you contribute and give, the more you receive and gain. But it isn't magic at all. The way is fraught with obstacles, challenges, problems, heartaches, failures even...but yet, you still succeed. Why? Exactly! Create a burning, white-hot desire of purpose within yourself and always review this purpose when it gets tough. You know...like when it gets all-too-easy to 'cheat' on your diet plan, instead of thinking, "Oh, that fast-food meal won't be so bad" state: I MUST stick with my 'clean' eating and consistent activity... (WHY?) ...BECAUSE I will feel more energy and live longer and have the ultimate confidence in my body and health and total control over my food choices. I MUST train with intensity and focus at the gym... (WHY?) ...BECAUSE I will achieve maximum results most efficiently and feel incredibly strong and vigorous after working out that way. I MUST take all my healthful supplements each and every day... (WHY?) ...BECAUSE I absolutely value having total health and leaving nothing to chance when it comes to my body, my life, and my future. Answer your WHY folks...it'll show you how! Dream, Believe, Achieve!
Tuesday November 9, 2004 - What's your Why I've written about the concept of find your "why" in life in other blogs and I still think it's of prime importance when following through with your action plans towards achieving your lifelong goals. Your "why" is your purpose. It's what drives you to do what you do. The stronger your "why" the better chances you'll have in manifesting your dreams and goals. For example, I mentioned that I want to be a best-selling author. At first glance/read, it sounds like I just want to sell a ton of book units and make a signficant profit. Well, while these things do tend to be part of the equation, the overarching reason WHY I want to sell a ton of units is because it will be one way that I can help millions of people achieve better health through FAD-FREE eating! When you center yourself on helping others succeed, you in turn, will also succeed. The on-line, network marketing distribution business that I am building is also designed with the "success breeds success" paradigm. The only way I will achieve financial abundance with this program is if I help many others achieve their own financial goals. Awesome concept isn't it? Much different than the "top-down" oft-times exploitative model of trying to "get ahead" and climb the corporate ladder until you hit the top mentality. Our team-building concept and team success-centeredness (led by our marketing coaches Brad and Marcia Hager) are helping many people achieve incredible things! So, my "why" remains firmly rooted within the framework of helping others and taking my eyes off of myself and focusing them towards others' successes. That's the best way that I know how to succeed and feel good about it along the way! Stay strong!
Monday November 8, 2004 - And so it begins Day One has arrived and it's all systems GO TIME starting today. I have a renewed focus and determination unmatched at any other point in my life regarding all aspects: physical, mental, emotional, intellectual, financial, etc. My physical transformation begins with a nutrition/training/supplementation overhaul and all the details will be recorded in our forum (only $9.99 per month to access and participate!). Business-wise, our on-line distribution team is laser-focused on a new and exciting product that's sure to take the nutritional supplement frontier to a whole new level! This one product has been slated to produce multi-million dollars in retail sales and each of our distributors are thrilled about the plan to earn $12,000 per month within the next 12 months with this single supplement! Intellectually, I will have forged the next few steps towards my future in medicine and will diligently continue with the necessary actions throughout this protracted process. Oh, and lest I forget that my second book is soon to be released with my third one in the works. Distribution deals are in process and my goal to achieve best-seller status with each of these publications absolutely WILL become a reality. God-willing, I will, I must, I can achieve anything and all things that I put my heart and mind and soul into. It's time to pour it on and make my destiny manifest! As Jeff Willet might say, it's "Time To Climb!"
Friday November 5, 2004 - Two more days to go Until I begin my program...check back soon!
Thursday November 4, 2004 - Day 1 approaches If you've been following several of my posts on our forum (by the way, register today!), I have announced the first day of my latest physique transformation and first page of my third book, which will document my progress in detail. Throughout this book, I will share my A.C.H.I.E.V.E. principles in action--from making Assessments and taking Actions... to introducing Coaches I will consult with... to listing my Higher Standards... to demonstrating the Intensity I'll put forth while training... to Edifying others along the way... to sharing my Values... and Evolving as a person each day. It's been a long time since I've undergone a total transformation of sorts and this book will represent the culmination of many years of personal and professonal growth. It won't be easy to write...but it will be a powerful tool to help me stay the course and bring my life and body to the next levels of development and success. Now, if I can only come up with a name for the title...hmmm...

Thursday October 28, 2004 - "Sweep Dreams" As you already know by now, our beloved Boston Red Sox are World Series Champions! How 'SWEEP' it was...watching them win 8 straight post-season games against two of the best teams in the league. You know, I still remember watching the fateful 1986 game vs. the NY Mets and sitting through the painful last game of the 2003 ALCS vs. the Yankees. But our team finally won at the Big October Dance after facing tremendous adversity and odds. And that's a great lesson for life doncha think? Never stop believing, always strive no matter what, and keep your focus on that next step. That's how miracles are made!
Monday October 25, 2004 - Congrats in order I must say that one of the most rewarding aspects of what I do happened just the other night. One of my clients, Thompson K. Danso, entered a bodybuilding competition and won the whole shebang! Through hard work, dedication, and passionate pursuit of his dreams, TK made awesome progress. I am so happy to have been part of his successful run. What's great is that I was able to see his transformation occur over the past several months leading up to his winning moment on stage. So cool! Thompson (he goes by "T.K.") had never competed in a natural bodybuilding contest until this past April and May when he took 3rd-place and 2nd-place respectively at these highly competitive, national-level shows. Well, he made it a goal to do even better the next time around and this past Saturday at the Northeastern Natural Bodybuilding Championship in Seekonk Massachusettes (on the very same night that our beloved Red Sox would win Game 1 of the World Series!), he accomplished his goal - winning his weight class (Light-Heavyweight...yes, it does sound oxymoronic doesn't it?) at a body weight of ~186 lbs. and at very low levels of body fat! Congrats TK, I'm proud of you bro! Here are some pictures of the champ! TK after his big win, standing next to his Overall Champion trophy:
Another pose on stage after winning the Overall Championship:
I tooks some pictures of TK hitting a few poses backstage after the show. Back double biceps pose:
Side chest pose and a Hands Front Most Muscular pose (our collective favorite!):
Monday October 18, 2004 - New week It's mid-month already and the weather is getting a tad bit colder now! It's the perfect time to start each day with a vigorous cardiovascular session (Max-OT style!) to warm up the body and get the metabolic fires a-burnin'! My favorite cardio exercise is jumping rope. I'll jump (okay, it's more like a skip...) rope for a good 15 minutes straight and get a really good sweat going. Next, I'll work on hitting a heavy bag, speed bag, and double-end bag at the gym to get more variety into my cardio workouts. But, first things first...jumping rope is a great way to burn some calories!
Thursday October 14, 2004 - Forum additions Got a few more sign-ups on our forum and some of the discussions are going pretty well. I threw around the idea of having a "Physique Transformation Challenge"-type contest for folks with some cool prizes to be awarded to the person(s) with the most outstanding transformation(s). I liked the idea from the 2001/2002 AST Sports Science Championships of having each contestant keeping a Daily Fitness Journal and a good percentage of the contest judging being dedicated to how well the Journal captured the person's goals and progress. I will be putting this together and reporting on the details soon. So stay tuned!
Tuesday October 12, 2004 - Fitness progress I find it fascinating to study the grocery lists that I've put together over the years. It's actually kinda neat to see how different they get depending on whether I'm on a "fat-loss" plan or in pre-bodybuilding contest mode. Lately, I've been cleaning up my diet and here are a few of the foods that've made it onto the ol' grocery list: - Chicken breast (skinless, boneless): 2 lbs. or so - Low-carb/high-fiber pita bread - White rice - Frozen vegetables (broccoli, mixed veggies) - Packets of albacore tuna - All Whites (egg whites) Not too shabby!
Monday October 11, 2004 - Happy Columbus Day!
Friday October 8, 2004 - Past the peak I'm feeling a bit better today albeit a bit stuffed in my sinuses. I think one more day of rest will get me back on all systems go. Kinda bummed out though - I missed our extra martial arts class last night and will be missing out on my semi-private lesson with my coach, Steve Whittier, today. Next week, I intend to get my schedule completely updated and set for the next few months. Check back on Monday - enjoy the weekend!
Thursday October 7, 2004 - Taking it a bit easy I taught martial arts class last night and really started to feel the cold bug in my chest/throat/vocal cords so I got back home and put myself to bed after consuming a hot bowl of soup. Today, I will continue to keep myself from running around too much.
Wednesday October 6, 2004 - Cold... Sheesh, I just came down with a stubborn cold this morning and am feeling a bit under the weather. A bit of a sore throat and some heaviness in my chest. I think I'll take it easy today - although I do have martial arts tonight.
Tuesday October 5, 2004 - Busy day! *Whew* Starting early today (5 AM) and have a bunch of things to get done. I'm officially starting my role as a Membership Committee member at my local (Arlington, MA) BNI group (Business Network International), which is a business-to-business networking group that meets every Tuesday morning from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM. It's a great resource for giving and receiving business referrals. Today we have a Visitor's Day and it should be a fun way to start the day meeting some new folks in a bunch of different industries and professions. You can visit the Arlington BNI Chapter website here. Have a great day!
Monday October 4, 2004 - New week I'm cleaning up the ol' diet this week and getting back on the training track and I'll be reporting on the details soon! Stay strong!

Thursday September 30, 2004 - Month-end Okay, so it's the end of yet another month of this blazing fast passing year of 2004 and have you taken stock of your progress thus far? Looking back over the past few weeks, I realize that I must work a bit harder on all my projects. This is where goal-setting is useful but more importantly, this is where monitoring/evaluation kicks into high gear for me. I will read over my monthly goals from the beginning of September, create new ones for October, and make another strong effort towards fulfilliing the ones I didn't quite complete over the past 30 days. Check out our forum to see my goals for the rest of the year. Make this new month of October a powerfully effective one!

Monday September 27, 2004 - Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes! Hey, isn't that a song?! :) Okay, well, this week will mark several major changes in my schedule and activity. First and foremost, I am starting to teach some regular private lessons over at the AMAC, which is pretty fun. Plus, I'll be starting up my voice lessons again over at the New England Conservatory. This, plus a new training schedule (to be posted later), and all the cool web site stuff, products, and interactive features that we've been rolling out. Oh yes, and I am now on the Leadership Team (Membership Committee)for our local business-to-business network group that meets every Tuesday at 7:00 AM until 8:30 AM. Time management will be the key!
Friday September 24, 2004 - Waiting game Well, yesterday was a pivotal day of sorts in my journey towards medical school. My undergraduate college (Holy Cross) Pre-Med Committee met yesterday to review my medical school application/chances and possibly write a Committee Letter to each of the medical schools that I am currently applying to. The Letter either Highly Recommends, Recommends, Recommends with reservation, or Not Recommends the student based on myriad criteria including, but not limited to, GPA, MCAT scores (mine are coming out in about a month), research experience/publications, work experience, letters of recommendation from professors/advisors, etc. Several years back, I was in somewhere in the 'Not Recommended' range so I figure that this time around I should have a somewhat better chance. We shall see...stay tuned!
Wednesday September 22, 2004 - Let's get it started! As overplayed as it is, I really dig that song by the Black-Eyed Peas, "Let's Get It Started!" But it certainly gets the blood a-pumpin' with that cool beat and catchy tune. Speaking of 'gettin' started' - have you ever just gotten to a point where you told yourself that 'enough is enough' and the pain of your current situation just pushes you past that point where you are forced to make changes in your life? Well, I think that sometimes it's a welcome thing. A good pain in some ways. For instance - if you miss a workout here and there, that type of mentality can spread to missing a whole week's worth of training. Then that week becomes a month, to several months, to even years of inactivity and sloth. (Not to mention the poor health that typically accompanies such inactivity.) Oftentimes, the failure to get back on track is due to the perceived pain of those workouts - the weakness, the sore muscles, the new schedule you must make to accomodate the training sessions. Well, I urge you to consider the gains you'll experience by getting back to training again. The strength, the vigor, the energy, the confidence. Pain is a good motivator for sure...but once you get things moving along, it's the pleasure of success and growth that will fuel your fire to stick with it. One of my clients recently made a great comment to someone who had noticed that pretty much all my client ate was grilled chicken breast, sweet potatoes, oatmeal, veggies, and water. My client said, "Yeah, it's tough to eat this way, but it's awesome to look this way too!" (My client is currently 5% body fat with an incredibly lean abdomen!). It's a constant balancing act here folks. Pain vs. pleasure. Use this to achieve your goals. Take advantage of that balance so that you experience the most pleasure (I'm referring to moral, ethical, character-building pleasure!) and least pain (the kind that demoralizes, destroys, and undermines) in your life! Stay strong!
Tuesday September 21, 2004 - Happy Day! Happy 4-year, 8-month anniversary to my only one, Jennifer! I love more and more every day! :)
Friday September 17, 2004 - It's ALIVE! Tomorrow, I'll be teaching a brand new class at our martial arts school . It'll be a PERFORMANCE-based class with lots of ALIVE drills and sparring rounds. As I've blogged about in the past on this web site, I believe that Matt Thornton's Straight Blast Gym International philosophy, curriculum, and coaching is THE BEST and most progressive system of martial arts training available today. Why? Simply because he makes the all-important distinctions of training for performance rather than image; developing a well-rounded "game" of stand-up fighting, clinch, and ground; and making ALIVENESS (i.e. training to improve timing, energy, and motion) the central focus and methodology. Aliveness means training with an uncooperative partner with progressive resistance. Matt does a much better job at explaining it than me so click here to read all about this process of training ALIVE. I am looking forward to establishing this new curriculum at our school and perpetuating the aliveness mentality and modality throughout our training experiences. Be ALIVE!
Thursday September 16, 2004 - More updates Hey, I actually made a timely blog today...woo-hoo! I've missed doing this on a regular basis. It's rather cathartic at times to share my thoughts and life with y'all (pardon my drawl, y'all!). Today I met with one of my favorite clients and she's doing an incredible job with her program - having dropped over 10 pounds of fat and losing a good amount of inches over the past several weeks. Man, I just love it so much when folks get great results from eating right and exercising consistently (sounds so simple but gets so hard sometimes no?). :) Say, I got another referral to help a fellow lose some excess fat and I can't wait to face that challenge. One of the toughest things to work through are those "plateaus" or sticking points in a fitness program. Best thing to do is stay focused on the fundamentals and keep it basic and simple! Well, I gotta get back to working on these med school applications - they're deadline sensitive - yikes! More updates forthcoming so keep on checking back. Ciao for now!
Wednesday September 15, 2004 - Updates Well, shame on me for failing to update this blog on a more consistent basis! I am amazed at how fast the days are flying by and it astonishes me to think that life can simply pass on while we get busier and busier with things. Well, I know that I must be more diligent and proactive with staying on top of things - like this web site! :) So, here are some updates in my world: Medical School Application: As I've mentioned before, this is a long process and requires focused effort and timely responses. Right now, I am working on completing an addendum to my autobiography that I'm sending to the Pre-Med Committee at Holy Cross (my undergraduate college). It is imperatively important for me to finish this ASAP because the Committee will be meeting a week from tomorrow to determine whether or not my application is strong enough to be competitive in this round of medical school applications. My hope is that I am a stronger candidate than before. I figure that three Masters degrees, two books, and a bunch more research experiences should count for something! We'll see though. Cyberwize: Our team here in the New England area is still growing! I added another distributor the other night and another one is about to come on board. This business is like franchising but without the exorbitant fees involved (nor time investment!). My goal is to hit the 7-figure income level (yes, that's right, we're talking income, NOT net worth) within the next 3 to 5 years (several people have already done this - earning between $80K and $150K per month!). Very powerful system indeed! Awesome business model! Unbeatable marketing team! I cannot wait to help more people make their financial and life dreams come true! Fitness: I'm still helping clients achieve their best body and this has been tremendously fun and rewarding for me! I'll include some pictures very soon. Be good folks and stay strong!
Thursday September 9, 2004 - New Forum! Check out our brand new forum here! Register for FREE today!
Wednesday September 8, 2004 - Back in action! Well, I'm back from Vegas and it's all systems go from now until January. More medical school applications have poured in and I am diligently striving to stay on top of 'em all. What a long, arduous process this is - but I'm sure it's well worth it in the end. On other fronts, the business venture we are building is absolutely exploding right now. Of the four phases of growth in a company (Formulation, Concentration/Growth, Momentum, Stability), we are definitely hitting the Momentum Phase at this point. Once we tap this New England area, it'll be the "buzz" of Beantown! (Hey, we already have our own Nascar racer!). I will be back with more details!
Thursday September 2nd to Monday September 6th - I'm at the Bally's Hotel in Las Vegas, NV! I am attending the HMG Business Convention for this weekend and depending on my access to the internet I may or may not have a chance to update this blog. For more information about my part-time business venture, click on the entrepreneurs link above. Have a great weekend!
Wednesday September 1, 2004 - New Forum! I've set up another section of our web site that includes a Discussion/Forum plus a private Members-Only section for clients. We'll be rolling out and unveiling more new features for ya' so keep on coming back! Check out the forum and Register for FREE today!
Tuesday August 31, 2004 - More applications *Whew* I've been receiving several secondary medical school applications over the past week and I'll be working on finishing them up (more essays to write, more money to send, and letters of recommendation to ask for, etc.). If I tend to lag a bit with the updates for this blog, you can always register and check out our new photo gallery! Fun stuff!
Monday August 30, 2004 - Awesome seminar! WOW! Yesterday, I participated in an incredible martial arts seminar that was hosted by my buddy, Steve Whittier, and conducted by Matt Thornton (President of Straight Blast Gym International, Inc.). I haven't worked out so hard in a loooong time and I simply LOVED it! The basis of what Matt teaches and coaches on is about the "truth in combat" or what is really functional with training the martial arts. His emphasis is PERFORMANCE-based, non-attribute learning rather than "image" and ego-centered advancement. And the root of the methods is "Aliveness." Boxing, wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu delivery systems are intrinsically "alive" in the way that these athletes train (i.e. working against a resisting opponent, thus helping one develop timing, energy, and motion). However, many of the martial arts schools around are NOT training alive but rather are perpetuating "DEAD" patterns, forms, rituals and the like. Check out what Matt has to say about aliveness.
Wednesday August 25, 2004 - Momentum! As many of you may know, we have been building this incredible income opportunity (for details, click on the "entrepreneurs" link above) and it's absolutely exploding with growth all over the USA! Most recently, one of my business mentors, Terry Strom, has built a huge team of distributors on the west coast and he's coming here to Boston this weekend to help us launch the northeast with a bang! Our business model is a lot like eBay's (we're an online company with a home-base in Sarasota, Florida) and that's a good thing since eBay's a $32 billion company! Well, we're expecting just phenomenal growth between now and the end of the year and I'm psyched at the fact that we're poised in the momentum phase of the company's growth right now! I will keep you updated on all the amazin' happenings as things progress! Stay strong and keep dreaming the big dreams!
Monday August 23, 2004 - Summer's close Unreal how the summer is pretty much over and the school season is just around the corner. What happened to those summer doldrums? I remember way back when I was a young lad and every summer day seemed endlessly fun and full of play. So what's next up? Well, as you can see, our photo gallery is up and running and new pictures are making their way into the albums every day - so check it out! Also, I've received the first review copies of my next book, "Hey, I Can See My Abs" and while the cover is being professionally designed, I am making an e-Book version available for 50% off. Friday July 30th - Transforming Lives I wanted to share a progress picture (taken a couple of weeks ago) of one of my clients. This fellow embodies the example of pure dedication to achieving physique transformation success:
Thompson "TK" Danso is a national-level bodybuilding competitor and he's training to compete (and win!) in a drug-free, bodybuilding show in October. Believe it or not, he'll be quite a bit leaner in a couple of months than he is in the picture above! What does it take? Lots of hard work, focused determined effort, commitment to daily improvement, and keeping track! That's the crux of the physique transformation methodology!
Wednesday July 28th - Mid-week momentum Wow, it's already the middle of the week and how much have you been able to accomplish? I'll tell you this - when days begin to blaze and blur on by, I make it a priority to SLOW DOWN and take some time...even just 10 to 15 minutes...to meditate or pray or simply take a mental stock of everything that I am thankful for and am working hard towards. Momentum is awesome - but you must give yourself time to gain perspective amidst the hustle n' bustle of everyday stress. Take 10 minutes right now and give yourself time for YOU!
Monday July 26th - Busy week ahead Well, it's the DNC week here in Boston and my schedule will pretty much stay constant with finishing up my med school applications, prepping for the August MCAT, getting myself in shape, and helping my clients along the way. Actually, Jennifer's in Houston all this week so I have the distinct enjoyment of caring for her two "puppies" - Dallas and Bailey. Dallas is a lab/shepard mix (wow, get a load of her talons!):
and Bailey's a black lab: Just so I don't too far off the topic of health/fitness, did you know that Bailey used to be grossly overweight? Well, she's quite lithe now because of PORTION CONTROL! :) That seems to be one of the biggest challenges folks face in their quest to get lean. I find that preparing my meals ahead of time - that means portioning out the meals and storing them in containers so I can quickly grab one every 2-3 hours - is the biggest help with controlling calories. Then it's all about repeating the process each and every week...and before you know it, you'll have lost a good amount of body fat! Happy transforming!
Wednesday July 21st - Oh Special Day! Many of you know me to be a "romantic" type o' guy. I've been known to write songs on a whim for special people in my life. (By the way, those types of songs feel so much better than the ones that I write when my heart's broken!) Well, today I'd like to share a romantic dedication... Happy 4 year, 6 month anniversary to the love of my life, Jennifer!
Tuesday July 20th - "You'll see it when you believe it!" A couple of months ago, I received the official documents from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the final registration of the above quote among other marks. You know, I think that much of life's success is a direct result of how deeply one believes in that success coming to fruition. But belief by itself is not enough. That passionate belief must be fortified by action and commitment to following through even when it's tough. Check out one of my "before" pictures from March 2002:
I weighed about 163 lbs. or so and measured approximately 17 percent body fat. Now, check out an "after" picture approx. 6 months later in September that same year (2002) weighing between 133 lbs. and 140 lbs. (depending on my hydration) and between 5-6% body fat:
I visualized how my physique would appear back in March. And most importantly, I believed so passionately that I could attain that level of fitness. Now, I find myself needing to believe again - and I know that 4 to 6 months from today - I will SEE that level of fitness again. Time to climb and keep on keepin' on! Some bonus bodybuilding photos for ya':
Monday July 19th - Crank up the effort... Well, I gotta tell you that it sure feels great to be back on the fitness track after oh, about a whole year of absolute SLOTH. Of course, that's relatively speaking based on my fitness levels from previous years. I am always aware of the fact that we can be better. We have aspects of our lives that need improvement. My life needed an overhaul of sorts to get back to the fitness lifestyle that I enjoyed in the not-too-distant past. It's just easier to be lazy and not do the things that'll make big differences in life - even if those differences could vastly improve the quality of life. That's why the antidote to absolute SLOTH is action. Taking that first step makes the biggest difference. Now that I've renewed my commitment to fitness and the fitness lifestyle, it gets a bit easier to take (the sacrifices, the discipline) because the results start to show and my efforts get rewarded. And what gets rewarded...gets repeated! Crank up the effort today and all this week folks! You'll be amazed at how much you can accomplish with focus, action, and high energy!
Wednesday July 14th - New Schedule I've been following a brand new, jam-packed schedule. My priorities are to finish up my AMCAS application (for medical school), continue with my intensive MCAT prep, and get my CyberWize business on the fast track to huge, huge, HUGE financial abundant success! It's going to be an intense but awesome 60 days folks!
Tuesday July 13th - Time to Climb (Again!) You know, life is a constant cycle of change and growth. Today, I made a personal challenge to myself - to demand much more from myself than anyone else could ever, ever expect! I've lost 2 1/2 pounds since starting my "clean" and lean nutrition plan. Trained chest this morning and it felt great to get back into the groove. My focus on fitness had taken a bit of a back seat to so many other things in my life - I needed to take serious stock of what my core values were. Near the top of my list was personal health and fitness excellence. Looking back over the past year, I have NOT been true to my valuing this in my life. That has changed and I am not only back on track, but striving to outdo all previous accomplishments in the health arena! That means getting leaner, stronger, and healthier than ever before! You can follow along with my Daily Fitness Journal by joining our online, secure community ...email me for details!
Monday July 12th - Back in Boston Well, I am back from Hawaii - actually got back Friday morning - and despite a little bit of jet-lag, I feel great! First of all, I have some major changes a-happenin' in my life and they're all good. I have decided to start planning on a move to Hawaii to improve my chances of gaining admission to the medical school at University of Hawaii. There's no guarantee in anything...but I gotta give it a shot ya' know? My thought is to make a move in the spring of 2005 - I am currently finishing up my first round of med school applications and prepping for the August MCAT. All of that plus getting back in to elite shape. For more information about my program and how I'm going to get myself back on the fitness track after a bit of a hiatus, go to my online, secure membership site. I'll be sharing my Daily Fitness Journal in the Discussions section and helping my clients with their own fitness programs online. Fun stuff folks!
Monday July 5th - Back in Oahu Well, we're back here in Honolulu after a fun four days in Hilo. I haven't really had a lot of time to sit down in front of the computer as we've been up and about since we've been back. Some notable experiences include enjoying the company of friends over dim sum in Chinatown, dining at the Kahala Mandarin Oriental hotel (lots of celebrities stay at this amazing place!), catching a couple of movies (Van Helsing for $1! and Fahrenheit 9/11 - you gotta see that movie! Very powerfully presented...) and enjoying some of the sights here in tropical paradise! Will be back with more stories tomorrow! In the meantime, here are some awesome pix of the Kilauea volcano crater! We had dinner at a restaurant that's perched right at the lip of the crater. Afterwards we saw a community theater performance of Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Pirates of Penzance." Here's a shot of part of Kilauea's vast crater:
If you look closely, you can see the "Calderon" or the crater within the crater at the center of the...uh, well, uh, the crater. (Wow, that was an awkward sentence!) You can even see steam rising from within it!
Here's yours truly mugging for the camera in front of the crater. All of the pictures here were taken at the steps of the restaurant! What an awesome view while eating dinner!
Friday July 2nd to Sunday July 4th We're heading off to mom and dad's other home in Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii:
I just found out that we won't have internet access; so I will be back with updates in a few days. Have a safe and enjoyable 4th of July holiday weekend!
Thursday July 1, 2004 ALOHA! Yeah, yeah, it's me again. :) Today is dad's 60th B-day! However, he looks half his age. We had a fun lil' par-tay last night for him with a bunch of friends. Tonight we're heading down to the Big Island o' Hawaii to stay at mom and dad's other home in Hilo. In the meantime, I'll be cranking on my MCAT review and finishing up some drafts of my essay. Fun fun fun!
